Sunningwell and District Gardening Club meetings in May

The Sunningwell and District Gardening Club regular meeting on Thursday 14th May will now be held in St Leonard’s Church, by kind permission of Rev Pam McKellen. Rosi Rollings will be giving a talk about Plants for Bees, which should be of interest. More information is on our website at www.sdgc.org.uk/NextMeeting Parking is still available in the village hall car park. Non-members and visitors are most welcome, as always.

Our annual Plant Sale on Saturday 23rd May will take place in Sunningwell Primary School, by kind permission of the Head Teacher. Again, details are on our website. Parking is limited in Dark Lane, so please be considerate of local residents. Doors open at 10 am and the best stuff goes quickly. Don’t miss it!

We will be going to visit West Green House Gardens on Thursday 18th June. There are still a few seats on the coach and we would be very happy for non-members to join us. . This is a National Trust property, so entry is free for NT members, (£8 for non-NT) and the coach fare will be £20. Sunningwell Parish Council Election May 7th.

Please become even more closely involved with your local community and stand for election to the Parish Council.
All you need is enthusiasm and some time to address issues that affect Sunningwell, Bayworth and Boars Hill.

These issues include the effect of an enhanced A34 Lodge Hill junction, and a possible new Park and Ride near by.
Then there are village green areas, planning applications, flood prevention, defibrillators, potholes and many more items of interest and local importance.

The Council meets once a month for ten months of the year with no meetings in August and December.
