FACILITIES & HELP AVAILABLE IN THE EVENT OF IMPENDING FLOODING

It must be stated that it is the responsibility of each householder to take appropriate measures to secure their own property against the possibility of flooding.
That said, please be assured you are not alone in that you have access to local facilities and personnel to call upon to assist you protect your property in the event of a likely flood. So please take advantage of the systems, equipment and procedures set up by the SFPG to assist before any flooding may occur
Note: The Council has advised that it no longer has the resources to provide sandbags to individual properties in times of severe weather.
Facilities:
1. Equipment stored in cupboard on left hand side of entrance to Village Hall includes:
Sand bags
Waterproof membrane
Stanley knife
Shovels
Spades
Protective gloves
Florescent Hi-viz vests
Torches
2. Sand boxes located at right side of road access to Village Hall
Note: the store cupboard and sand boxes are secured by a number lock. Please contact one of the under named to gain access.

2. Environment Agency, Flood Warnings – the EA has a system of alerting individuals (phone, text or email) to the possibility of a flood in their area through an on line registration system. To register log on to http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/flood and follow the instructions, or call their Flood Line on 0845 988 1188.
